And Jesus Went With Him

What a wonderful thing when Jesus is going with us and we are going with Him! Is Jesus going with you? Have you asked Him to? Are you going with Him? Do you want to?

Mark 5:22-24: And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

Actually, after Jesus first step of going with Jairus, Jairus was going with Jesus. I wonder if Jairus was impatient. I wonder if he was concerned that the crowd might interfere with Jesus meeting his need. I wonder if he knew that Jesus could meet his needs and the needs of the crowd at the same time. Jesus is able to meet the needs of billions of us at one time and at exactly the right time.

Mark 5:35: While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue*s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

I think the heart of Jairus sank at this report. He was afraid it was now too late. I wonder if he resented the crowd for preventing Jesus from meeting his need. I am so glad that Jesus encouraged Jairus and that Jesus encouragement for him is exactly right for us. Like Jairus, we sometimes have to hit the bottom before Jesus reveals Himself and His love and power to us.

Mark 5:36: As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

And then Jesus got rid of the crowd at exactly the right time. This points to the fact that Jesus loves and meets the needs crowds and of all of us as INDIVIDUALS at exactly the right time.

Mark 5:37-42: And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
